The Sculpin
The Sculpin is our first skiff built on the MoSS platform — a purpose-built, ultra-light technical poling skiff designed for extreme shallow water performance. With a hull weight of approximately 200 lbs, the Sculpin drafts 3.5″–4.5″ with two anglers on board and planes effortlessly at low speeds and low RPMs.
The hull is available in full carbon or E-glass/S-glass hybrid configurations. Both use 100% directional fiber, full core construction, and epoxy resin vacuum infusion — the same build philosophy as our Custom Shop skiffs. The result is a hull with zero flex, even running through chop, despite having no traditional stringers or bulkheads.
The Sculpin features fully bonded fore and aft decks with storage beneath, a wide rolled gunnel for push pole mounting, and full integral spray rails. The layout is tiller only — clean, simple, and functional. Top speed with a 20hp outboard is 25–28 mph depending on load and prop selection.
