The Mantis
The Mantis is the largest skiff in our fleet. This skiff utilizes the same proven hull design features of the Cromis, but the 78” beam provides greater stability and payload. The Mantis tunnel is designed so that if an outboard jet is utilized, the outboard jet intake sits above the bottom of the hull. This allows the Mantis to take off and plane in extremely shallow water without damage or scarring of the bay bottom. The Mantis’s light-weight construction and unique hull design result in a large skiff that still poles, tracks and spins like a much smaller skiff. The Mantis’s generously-sized, full-length spray rails result in a very dry ride, particularly for a skiff with minimal deadrise. The Mantis offers significant storage areas with multiple dry compartments under fore and aft hatches. Multiple console options are available which incorporate either an under-seat live well or fully insulated cooler. The interior cockpit space of the Mantis is much larger than most skiffs, which makes it ideal for decoy hauling for shallow-water enthusiasts looking for a dual purpose fly-fishing/duck-hunting skiff. If you’re looking for unparalleled shallow water performance in a three-person payload the Mantis is the skiff for you.
